(Schimmel, Dein Wille Geschehe, S. 43) Annemarie Schimmel hatte vor einigen Jahren ein Büchlein ("Dein Wille Geschehe") mit vielen dieser wunderschönen Gebete zusammengestellt. Sie zitiert darin L. Q. Lash, den katholischen Bischof von Mumbai (Bombay, Indien), der sich zu den Gebeten des Propheten Mohammed (saws) wie folgt geäußert hat: „Niemand kann diese Gebete lesen, ohne dass sich ihm das Gefühl für die Majestät Gottes, die Vollkommenheit Seiner alles umfassenden Vorsehung und Seines Interesses selbst am kleinsten Detail des menschlichen Lebens vertieft. Niemand kann sie lesen ohne den Ansporn, auch seine Hingabe an den Willen und die Ziele seines Schöpfers zu vertiefen und zu erneuern, oder ohne dass ihm die Notwendigkeit ständiger Wachsamkeit und dauernden Gebetes klarer wird, auf dass er nicht in Versuchung geführt werde."
