Er ging in die USA um an einem Wrestling Turnier teilzunehmen. William Aloysius Brady erzählt: "Er war ein moderner Herkules und er wusste, wie man denjenigen bestrafte, der das Gefühl hatte ihn besiegen zu können. Er war so schnell wie ein Dschungelkatze und Meister aller Härte. Yûsuf kam auf mich wie ein wildgewordener Stier. Er stürzte mich direkt von der Matte in einen Haufen von Tänzerinnen in den Flügel. Das erste, was ich wusste war, dass ich mich hilflos fühlte. Der Türke holte mich, als wäre ich ein Kätzchen. Nie zuvor habe ich eine so schreckliche Stärke gefühlt. Bevor ich überhaupt gewackelt oder mich gewunden haber streifte er mich zurück -auf den Brettern mit furchtbarer Gewalt- in den Ring und prügelte die ganze Kraft und Verstand aus mir... so verlor ich das Bewusstsein. Sie sagten mir, nachdem ich gelandet war, rollte mich Yûsuf mit dem Fuß, sah über das Publikum, gab ein verächtliches Schnauben und verließ die Bühne. Als ich wieder zu mir kam, war ich ein trauriger, aber weiser junger Mann. İrgendwie konnte ich mich anziehen, ging auf die Straße, humpelte und fing an, zu mir nach Hause zu Fuß bis Third Avenue zu gehen. Yûsuf hatte meinen Hals wie einen Schraubenschlüssel umgedreht, er riss ihn fast von meinen Schultern. Es dauerte Tage, bis ich in eine richtige Richtung gehen konnte, ohne das mich mein Orientierungssinn täuschte." Der Kampf zwichen Koca Yûsuf İsmâ'îl und William Aloysius Brady dauerte 15 min.
