Außenminister Sebastian Kurz weist das zurück. Ankara/Wien. Das neue österreichische Islamgesetz sorgt für einen offenen verbalen Schlagabtausch zwischen Spitzenpolitikern Österreichs und der Türkei. Niemand Geringerer als der türkische Präsident, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, hat sich persönlich eingeschaltet und heftige Kritik am österreichischen Gesetz geübt: Das Islamgesetz verstoße gegen die Normen der EU und sei eine „Maßnahme zur Unterdrückung von Muslimen", sagte Erdoğan laut türkischen Medienberichten vom Sonntag. Auf der einen Seite sei immer vom EU-Acquis die Rede, auf der anderen Seite würden Schritte unternommen, „die der EU widersprechen", äußerte der türkische Präsident. Österreichs Außenminister, Sebastian Kurz, wies die Kritik Erdogğans am Sonntag umgehend zurück: „Das Islamgesetz ist eine Entscheidung, die in Österreich zu treffen war", ließ Kurz über seinen Sprecher verlauten. „Wir wollen einen Islam, der sich frei und ohne Bevormundung aus dem Ausland entfalten kann." Entscheidend sei, dass die Muslime in Österreich – die Islamische Glaubensgemeinschaft (IGGiÖ) und die Aleviten – zugestimmt hätten. Österreich sei „Vorreiter in der Anerkennung des Islam. Er ist seit 1912 anerkannt und mit dem neuen Gesetz bekommt die Glaubensgemeinschaft Rechte und Pflichten, die vorbildlich sind", so der Außenminister.Heftige Debatten in IGGiÖDer Präsident der Islamischen Glaubensgemeinschaft, Fuad Sanaç, stimmte nach anfänglichem Zögern dem Islamgesetz zu. Innerhalb der IGGiÖ gibt es aber nach wie vor heftige Debatten über die neuen Bestimmungen. Man „verkenne nicht, dass die derzeitige Gesetzesvorlage Ausdruck eines Kompromisses ist, der den Bedürfnissen beider Seiten wohl am nächsten kommt". Es gebe keine uneingeschränkte Zustimmung zur nunmehrigen Vorlage, doch nach einer „denkbar verfahrenen Ausgangslage" im Herbst sei im Dialog doch noch Annäherung erzielt worden, hieß es etwa in der Stellungnahme des 61-köpfigen Schurarates, des höchsten Gremiums der Glaubensgemeinschaft.Gruppen wie die Muslimische Jugend Österreichs (MJÖ) laufen gegen das Gesetz Sturm. Sie kritisieren, dass für Muslime eine „Sondergesetzgebung" geschaffen worden sei – mit Bestimmungen, die für andere Religionsgruppen nicht gelten würden. Die MJÖ hat angekündigt, deshalb vor den Verfassungsgerichtshof (VfGH) zu ziehen. Einer der kritisierten Punkte: Imame und islamische Einrichtungen in Österreich sollen nicht mehr aus dem Ausland finanziert werden dürfen. Davon ist auch der türkische Staat konkret betroffen: Denn 65 türkische Imame, die von der türkischen Religionsbehörde Diyanet bezahlt werden, können künftig ihr Gehalt nicht mehr aus Ankara beziehen. In seiner Kritik an Österreichs Islamgesetz verglich der türkische Präsident Erdoğan nun die Lage in europäischen Ländern mit der Entmachtung des islamistischen Premiers Necmettin Erbakan durch das Militär in der Türkei 1997. Die Intervention der Generäle zum Sturz der Regierung Erbakan wird von Erdoğan und anderen islamisch-konservativen Politikern in der Türkei als Aktion zur Entrechtung gläubiger Muslime gesehen.
