Hijab und Mode passen nicht sehr gut zueinander. Denn Mode bedeutet Veränderung und hat mit Geschmack zu tun. Gleich zwei Dinge, die der muslimischen Kleiderordnung widersprechen. Weder verändert sich der Hijab (d.h er wird nicht irgendwann durch etwas anderes ersetzt), noch hat die Muslima einen Einfluss darauf, ob sie mit dieser Kleidungsart einverstanden ist. Sie kann höchstens minimale Unterschiede zu anderen aufweisen, indem sie in der Farbe und (etwas) beim Design variiert. Das ist kein Grund für eine Muslima betrübt zu sein, da dies ihr Leben als aktives Mitglied der Gesellschaft in keiner Weise beeinträchtigen sollte. Es ist nämlich nicht der Islam, der ihr das Leben schwer macht, sondern das nicht-islamische System, das sie mit ihrer Bedeckung der Reize nicht akzeptieren möchte. Der Islam sieht nicht vor die Frau zu Hause einzusperren und sie am Alltag zu hindern. Obwohl es (leider) Muslime gibt, die ein solches Verhalten an den Tag bringen, widerspricht dies den Quelltexten des Islams. In keiner Stelle finden wir Beweise vor, die es einer generell Frau verbieten sich in der Öffentlichkeit zu befinden. Es stimmt, dass das Gebet der Frau zu Hause besser ist. Umm Humayd kam zum Propheten (a.s.s.) und sagte: „Oh Gesandter Allahs, ich liebe es mit dir zu beten!", da antwortete er (saw): „Ich weiß, dass du es liebst mit mir zu beten, doch das Gebet Zuhause ist besser für dich, als das Gebet in einem Zimmer neben dem Haus. Und das Gebet im Zimmer neben dem Haus ist besser für dich, als das Gebet im Vorhof deines Hauses. Und das Gebet im Vorhof deines Hauses ist besser für dich, als das Gebet in der Moschee (deiner Umgebung). Und das Gebet in der Moschee (deiner Umgebung) ist besser für dich, als das Gebet in meiner Moschee." [Ahmad] Und es stimmt ebenso, dass die Frau ohne die Erlaubnis des Ehemannes nicht das Haus verlassen darf. So berichtet Ibn Batta im Werk „Ahkam an-nisa'" von Anas, dass ein Mann sich auf eine Reise begab und seiner Frau untersagte, das Haus zu verlassen. Ihr Vater erkrankte. Sie bat den Gesandten Allahs um Erlaubnis, ihrem Vater einen Krankenbesuch abzustatten. Doch der Gesandte Allahs (a.s.s.) antwortete ihr: "Fürchte Allah und handle deinem Ehemann nicht zuwider." Ihr Vater verstarb und sie bat den Gesandten Allahs (a.s.s.) um Erlaubnis, seinem Begräbnis beizuwohnen. Doch der Gesandte antwortete ihr: "Fürchte Allah und handle deinem Ehemann nicht zuwider." Da offenbarte Allah dem Propheten: "Mit ihrem Gehorsam gegenüber ihrem Ehemann habe ich ihr verziehen." Solche Tatsachen widersprechen aber nicht der allgemeinen Gültigkeit der Gesellschaft im Öffentlichen beizuwohnen. Vielleicht wussten einige das noch nicht, aber die Frau ist auch ein Mensch. Viele Muslime sind als Reaktion auf den Westen in das andere Extrem gegangen. Im Westen lebt die Frau in aller Freizügigkeit und kann sich komplett zur Schau stellen. Wie aufrichtig die Muslime es nun auch meinten, haben sie es der muslimischen Frau dann einfach überhaupt nicht mehr erlaubt sich draußen zu zeigen, um diesem Einfluss entgegenzuwirken. Aber so funktioniert der Islam nicht. Wir können nicht einfach immer nur das absolute Gegenteil von den Nichtmuslimen tun, um das Richtige zu machen. Wir schauen uns vielmehr die Quelltexte des Islams an und SIE sagen uns, was richtig und was falsch ist - so wie wir es in den meisten anderen unserer Angelegenheiten auch tun. Die muslimische Frau darf also rausgehen und sich auch mit einem Fremden unterhalten (solange die Schariah es in einer bestimmten Situation erlaubt), wie wenn es sich um Handel, Bildung, Islam oder dergleichen handelt. Was nicht erlaubt ist, ist das Unterhalten in Aspekten, die die Schariah nicht erlaubt hat, wie wenn man aus freundschaftlichen Gründen mit einem Mann zusammenkommt (etc.). Alles andere wäre, den Islam nach Neigungen zu bestimmen, selbst wenn man es gut meint.
