Ərafa gününün fəziləti Rəhimli və Mərhəmətli Allahın adı ilə Həmd olsun aləmlərin Rəbbi olan Allaha, Allahın salamı və salavatı olsun peyğəmbərimiz Muhəmməd və onun ailəsinə və səhabələrinə. Bundan sonra: 1. Ərafa — nemətlərin tamamlandığı və dinin kamilləşdiyi bir gündür. İbn Şihab rəvayət edir ki, yəhudilər gəlib Ömər ibn Xəttaba (Allah ondan razı olsun) dedilər: "Ey möminlərin əmiri! Sizin, Kitabda oxuduğunuz bir ayə var ki, əgər o ayə bizə nazil olsaydı, biz o günü bayram edərdik" Ömər: "Hansı ayədir o?"– deyə soruşdu. Onlar dedilər: «Bu gün dininizi sizin üçün kamil etdim, sizə olan nemətimi tamamladım və bir din olaraq sizin üçün İslamı bəyənib seçdim.» (əl-Maidə 3) Ömər dedi: «Bu ayənin Peyğəmbərə (Allahın ona salavat və salamı olsun) nə zaman və harada nazil olduğu bizə bəllidir. Bu ayə cümə günü Peyğəmbər (Allahın ona salavat və salamı olsun) Ərəfatda ikən nazil olmuşdur.» (Səhih əl-Buxari və Səhih Muslim) 2. Ərafa — orada olan insanların bayramıdır. Peyğəmbər (Allahın ona salavat və salamı olsun) buyurur: «Ərafa günü, Qurban günü və ondan sonrakı təşriq günləri bizim bayramımızdır. Onlar yeyib içmək günləridir.» Ömər (Allah ondan razı olsun) demişdir: "«…Bu gün dininizi kamil etdim…» ayəsi Ərafa günü cümə günü nazil olmuşdur. Allaha həmd olsun ki, onların hər ikisi bizim bayramımızdır." 3. Ərafa — Allahın and içdiyi gündür. Əzəmətli Allah ancaq əzəmətli şeyə and içər. «And olsun vədə verilmiş günə! And olsun şahidlik edənə və edilənə!» (əl-Buruc 2-3) Əbu Hureyra (Allah ondan razı olsun) rəvayət edir ki, Peyğəmbər (Allahın ona salavat və salamı olsun) demişdir: «Vəd verilmiş gün Qiyamət günüdür. Şahidlik edən gün Ərafa, şahid olan gün isə Cümə günüdür.» (Tirmizi rəvayət edib Albani səhihləşdirib) 4. Ərafa günü tutulan oruc iki ilin günahlarını silir. İmam Muslim Əbu Qatədədən rəvayət edir ki, Peyğəmbər (Allahın ona salavat və salamı olsun) Ərafa günü tutulan oruc haqqında soruşulduqda belə cavab vemişdir: «Özündən əvvəlki və sonrakı ilin günahlarına kəffarədir.» Bu orucu həcc etməyənlər tuta bilər. Çünki Peyğəmbər (Allahın ona salavat və salamı olsun) həcc edərkən o gün oruc tutmamışdır. Hətta həcc edənə Ərafa günü oruc tutmağı qadağan etdiyi də rəvayət olunur. 5. Bu gün, Allah Adəmin törəmələrini özlərinin əleyhinə şahid tutduğu gündür. İbn Abbas (Allah ondan razı olsun) rəvayət edir ki, Rasulullah (Allahın ona salavat və salamı olsun) demişdir: «Allah Na'maanda (yəni Ərafada) Adəmin belindən özlərinin əleyhinə şahid tutmuşdu. O, Adəmin belindən onun törəmələrini çıxarmış və qarşısında hamısını yaymış və sonra "Mən sizin Rəbbiniz deyiləmmi?"– deyə onları özlərinin əleyhinə şahid tutmuşdu. Onlar: "Bəli, biz şahid olduq!"– demişdilər. Bu ona görədir ki, siz Qiyamət günü: "Biz bundan xəbərsiz idik!"– deməyəsiniz. Yaxud: «Atalarımız bizdən əvvəl Allaha şərik qoşmuş, biz də onlardan sonra gələn bir nəsil olmuşuq. Məgər Sən bizi batilə uyanların etdikləri əməllərə görə məhv edəcəksən?"– deməyəsiniz.» (əl-Ə`raf 172-173) (Əhməd, Albani səhihləşdirib) Bu gündən böyük gün və bu razılaşmadan böyük razılaşma yoxdur. 6. O gün günahlardan bağışlanma, atəşdən qurtuluş və orada duran insanlarla Uca Allahın fəxr etdiyi bir gündür. Muslimin səhih əsərində Aişədən (Allah ondan razı olsun) rəvayət edilir ki, Peyğəmbər (Allahın ona salavat və salamı olsun) buyurmuşdur: «Elə bir gün yoxdur ki, Ərafa günü kimi çoxlu insanlar Cəhənnəm əzabından azad olsunlar. Həmin gün Allah insanlara yaxınlaşır, onların çoxluğu ilə mələklər qarşısında fəxr edərək (hər şeyi bildiyi halda) deyir: "Onlar nə istəyirlər (nə üçün bura toplaşıblar)?"» Yəni ən çox Ərafa günü insanlar Cəhənnəmdən azad olurlar.
