Die Mühe, für seine Eltern in der schwierigsten Phase ihres Lebens zu sorgen, wird als Ehre betrachtet und als eine Gnade und eine Gelegenheit für eine große geistige Weiterentwicklung. Im Islam reicht es nicht aus, nur für die Eltern zu beten, sondern wir sollten mit unendlichem Mitgefühl handeln und uns daran erinnern, wie sie uns ihren Bedürfnissen vorangestellt haben, als wir kleine, hilflose Kinder waren. Mütter werden besonders geehrt. Wenn muslimische Eltern ein hohes Alter erreichen, werden sie gnadenvoll behandelt, mit Freundlichkeit und aufopferungsvoll. Im Islam ist das Bedienen der Eltern eine Pflicht, die gleich an zweiter Stelle nach dem Gebet steht, und es ist ihr Recht, es zu erwarten. Es wird als verachtenswert betrachtet, irgendeine Verärgerung zu äußern, wenn die Alten schwierig werden, denn es ist nicht ihre Schuld.
