    اَللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّيْ فِيْهِ عَلَى صِيَامِهِ وَ قِيَامِهِ وَ جَنِّبْنِيْ فِيْهِ مِنْ هَفَوَاتِهِ وَ آثَامِهِ وَ ارْزُقْنِيْ فِيْهِ ذِكْرَكَ بِدَوَامِهِ بِتَوْفِيْقِكَ يَا هَادِيَ الْمُضِلِّيْنَ

    O Allah assist me, in this month, to observe fast in its days and worship Thee in its nights; restrain me from indulging in frivolities and transgressing the divine laws; keep me alive praising Thee day in and day out through Thy guidance and grace O the Guide of those who are apt to go astray.

    Abū Huraira, Allāhs Wohlgefallen auf ihm, berichtete, dass der Gesandte Allāhs, Allāhs Segen und Friede auf ihm, sagte:

    "Das Fasten ist (für den Menschen) ein Schutz; so soll er (während des Fastens) weder Schändlichkeit noch Torheit begehen;
    und wenn jemand ihn zum Zweikampf auffordert oder beschimpft, soll er ihm zweimal sagen: >Ich faste<.
    Ich schwöre bei Dem, in Dessen Hand mein Leben ist, dass der Geruch aus dem Mund eines Fastenden bei Allāh besser ist als der Moschusduft.
    Allāh sagte: »Er (der Fastende) stellt Meinetwegen sein Essen und Trinken sowie seine Begierde ein.
    Das Fasten ist Mir gewidmet, und Ich belohne entsprechend;
    und jede gute Tat wird gleichermaßen zehnfach belohnt.«"
