    Qur'an: Allah, der Erhabene, spricht:
    "Und setze dein Vertrauen in den Allmächtigen, den Allbarmherzigen, Der dich sieht, wie du (allein beim Gebet) stehst, und wie du dich bewegst unter denen, die sich niederwerfen." (26:217-219)

    "Und Er ist bei euch, wo ihr auch seid. Und Allah sieht, was ihr tut." (57:4)

    "Vor Allah ist wahrlich nichts verborgen, weder auf Erden, noch im Himmel," (3:5)

    "Dein Herr ist wahrlich ständig auf der Wacht." (89:14)

    "Er kennt die Täuschung der Blicke und das, was die Herzen verborgen halten." (40:19)

    Umar ibn al-Khattab (r) berichtet: Einst, als wir bei dem Gesandten Allahs (s) saßen, erschien plötzlich ein Mann, dessen Kleidung strahlend weiß und dessen Haar tief schwarz war, und der kein Anzeichen einer Reise an sich hatte, und den niemand von uns kannte. Er setzte sich neben den Propheten (s), wobei seine Knie die des Propheten (s) berührten. Die Hände auf seine Oberschenkel legend sagte er. "Oh Muhammad! Kläre mich auf, was wirklich Islam ist." Der Prophet (s) sagte: "Islam' ist, dass du bezeugen sollst, dass es keinen Gott außer Allah allein gibt und dass Muhammad (s) sein Gesandter ist, und dass du das Gebet verrichtest, die Zakat zahlst, das Fasten während des Monats Ramadan beachtest und die Pilgerfahrt zum Hause Allahs durchfuhrst, wenn du dazu in der Lage bist." Der Mann sagte: "Das ist richtig!" Und wir waren erstaunt, dass er ihn fragte und sogleich die Richtigkeit der Antwort bestätigte. Dann sagte er: "Erzähle mir vom Glauben!" Der Prophet (s) sagte: "Du sollst glauben an Allah, an Seine Engel, an Seine Bücher, an Seine Propheten, an den Jüngsten Tag, und du sollst glauben, dass Er das Schicksal bestimmt, sei es gut oder schlecht." Der Mann sagte: "Das ist richtig! Jetzt erzähle mir vom rechten Tun." Der Prophet (s) sagte: "Du sollst Allah anbeten, als ob du ihn siehst, und wenn du ihn auch nicht siehst, so bedenke, dass Er dich beobachtet." Der Mann sagte: "Nun erzähle mir vom Jüngsten Tag." Der Prophet (s) sagte: "Davon weiß der Gefragte nicht mehr als der Fragende." Der Mann sagte dann: "Nun, so lass mich einigender Zeichen des Jüngsten Tages wissen." Der Prophet (s) sagte: "Dass die Dienerin ihren Herrn gebärt und dass barfußige, nackte, mittellose Schafhirten Bauten in die Höhe ziehen." Dann verabschiedete sich der Mann, und ich blieb noch geraume Zeit dort. Schließlich sagte der Prophet (s) zu mir: "Oh Umar, weißt du, wer dieser Fragesteller war?" Ich antwortete: "Allah und Sein Gesandter (s) wissen es am besten!" Da sagte er: "Es war Gabriel, der kam, um euch zu unterweisen und euch eure Religion zu lehren." (Muslim)
