    Allah schämt Sich nicht, ein Gleichnis auch nur mit einer Mücke oder mit etwas darüber (hinaus) zu prägen. Was nun diejenigen angeht, die glauben, so wissen sie, daß es die Wahrheit von ihrem Herrn ist. Was aber diejenigen angeht, die ungläubig sind, so sagen sie: "Was will denn Allah damit als Gleichnis?" Er läßt damit viele in die Irre gehen und leitet viele damit recht, doch läßt Er damit nur die Frevler in die Irre gehen,‬

    eines Tages durch den Markt von Basrah ging und sich die Leute um ihn herum scharten …und fragten:

    „O Abu Ishaq (Beiname von Ibrahim bin A`dham), Allah der Erhabene sagt in Seinem edlen Buch (in der ungefähren Bedeutung):
    „Ruft Mich an, so erhöre Ich euch."

    [Surah al-Ghaafir (40):60]

    Wir rufen Ihn bereits seit langem an ohne dass Er unsere Bittgebete erhört." So antwortete Ibrahim bin A`dham (rahimahu-llah):
    „O Bewohner von Basrah, eure Herzen sind aufgrund von 10 Dingen tot:

    Erstens: Ihr kennt Allah den Erhabenen, jedoch gibt ihr Ihm nicht Sein Recht.

    Zweitens: Ihr habt Allahs Buch gelesen, jedoch handelt ihr nicht danach.

    Drittens: Ihr behauptet den Gesandten Allahs (salla-llahu `alaihi wa sallam) zu lieben, jedoch habt ihr euch seiner Sunnah abgewendet.

    Viertens: Ihr behauptet die Feinde vom Shaytaan (Satan; Allahs Fluch auf ihm) zu sein, jedoch fügt ihr euch ihm (bzw. Folgt ihr ihm).

    Fünftens: Ihr behauptet das Paradies zu lieben, jedoch arbeitet ihr nicht dafür (es zu erlangen).

    Sechstens: Ihr behauptet das Feuer (der Hölle) zu fürchten, jedoch nähert ihr euch dem Feuer (durch das begehen von Sünden).

    Siebtens: Ihr sagt, dass der Tod wahr ist, jedoch bereitet ihr euch nicht darauf vor.Achtens:

    Ihr beschäftigt euch mit den Fehlern anderen und überseht eure eigenen.

    Neuntens: Ihr verzehrt die Wohlgefälligkeiten eures Herrn, jedoch seid ihr nicht dankbar dafür.

    Zehntens: Ihr begrabt eure Toten, jedoch zieht ihr keine Lehren daraus."
